The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a combination of designers, industry representatives, educators and students who share a passion and commitment to interior design. Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, we strive to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives. Our chapter as San Franciscso State Univeristy is one of 48 chapters that make up the international society, more than 25,000 members engage in a variety of professional programs.

Founded in 1975, ASID is the oldest, largest and leading professional organization for interior designers. ASID inspires and enriches our members by promoting the value of interior design, while providing indispensable knowledge and experiences that build relationships. The Society's membership also includes nearly 5,000 students of interior design, in which it serves as a backbone and easy access mentorship to upcoming interior designers.
